Event Report: Pool based swim held at Thomas Hardy Leisure Centre, Coburg Road, Dorchester, DT1 2HT.

400m Swim, 15 mile cycle and 4 mile run.

GENERAL INFORMATION
*Please note the Leisure centre can only be accessed from 6.45am, however bikes can be racked before that.*

RACE DESK Located in the reception area for MARKING-UP and registration.
All BT members must show their membership cards when being marked up!! Without this you will be charged £4 for a day licence.
All unattached competitors will have paid for a Day Licence within the entry fee.

SWIMMING
Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre swimming pool is 25metres in 4 lanes.
400 metres NO DIVING INTO POOL
- Staggered start of up to 16 competitors every 10-20 minutes. Swimmers will be tapped on the shoulder and a paddle held under the water when they have two lengths to go. Please report to poolside 15 minutes before your swim time to assist organisers.

CYCLING Starting and finishing at the Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre. Follow the A35 towards
Approx. Poole at the Puddletown junction turn off at the split road to go all the way around
15 Miles the roundabout and filter back onto the A35 heading back into Dorchester. Take great care filtering onto the Dual carriage way and at the Dorchester Bypass roundabout. COMPETITORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO START WITHOUT A HELMET! DRAFTING NOT PERMITTED!

RUNNING NEW ROUTE- The route leaves the Leisure Centre via the main entrance along Coburg
Approx 4 miles Road through to Maiden Castle Road. Runners to run all the way to the Maiden Castle car park where they will be turned by a marshal to retrace mostly the same course back towards the leisure centre Take care! Use pavements where possible & FOLLOW SIGNS!!

NUMBERS The race number must be clearly visible for all three disciplines. On the back for cycling and front for running. Please wear a race belt if possible and ensure the number can be seen through each timing point. Please go to the race desk prior to the swim to be marked up on your arms and legs.
CHANGING Available at the Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre.
FACILITIES

BIKE RACKING Bikes will be grouped together on the all weather pitch outside the Leisure Centre. Find your race number on the racking for your place. Only competitors will be allowed inside the bike park for security reasons

RACE INTRUCTIONS

The Dorchester ‘Fast Twitch’ Triathlon is based at the Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre in Dorchester. We are
grateful to all the other support groups without whom this event would otherwise not be possible.

PARKING Please Park at the School along Queens Avenue in the designated areas.
Follow the Signs

IMPORTANT The Centre is located in a mainly residential area so please be quiet as to avoid disturbing the local residents early on a Sunday morning.

SPECTATORS Spectators are particularly welcome to watch the event and enjoy the facilities at the Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre. There is limited seating around the pool.
Please adhere to any photography/video policies the centre may enforce.

AMENDMENT OF Competitors must notify the organisers of any corrections to entry details,
ENTRY DETAILS in particular the team represented, before starting the race. No exceptions will be made afterwards.

RESULTS A full set of provisional results will be available on the day of the race. A provisional list will be posted on the website by the Sunday evening to which competitors will have 72 hrs to make queries. A full final set will be posted on the website once all queries have been dealt with.
Please remember, if we cannot see your number at Timing points we cannot guarantee a split time.
