Olympic Distance (1500m approx) - Open sea swim in Swanage Bay in a anti-clockwise loop. You will exit the water at the Stone Quay and re-enter around a flag on the beach to return across the bay. Returning to the safety area on the far x buoy, keeping it on your left should, to swim to shore before being directed off the beach up the ramp and along the pavement to the steps up to sandpit field.

Do not start at the front if you are not fast or not used to sea swimming. Safety craft will be in position and lifeguards are instructed to remove any competitor from the water who they consider in danger for whatever reason. An alternative triangular course may be used due to overnight moorings in the bay. We advise you to practice sea swimming before the event.

Circuit going out of Swanage to Langton Matravers, onto Kingston, where there are a series of dangerous bends heading towards Corfe Castle. Take care through the village of Corfe and continue on the A 351 to the main Wareham roundabout where you will go round to retrace the A351 to Corfe. Return to Swanage via the A351 & B3351 to Studland where the Roads narrow and require extreme care. Caution on downhill before turning right into Swanage. On entering the town you are required to turn right at the ‘Crows Nest’ on to Seaward Road, Great Care then continue on De Moulham Road back into transition.
Concentrate at all times. - No Heroes Please!!

The route leaves transition towards Ballard Down, climbing 400 feet above sea level on narrow but good paths to Studland village and back on roads to the finish on the sea front. There will be a water station approximately half way (3 miles) at Studland village. Great care on narrow road section from here-keep on left and use pavements where possible.
